Hi all

Sadly 'BMWRider'  has decided to hang up has boots and the time has come to find a worthy replacement.

So if u would like to nominate some one or yourself post in this thread – you don’t have to be a high producer or an old timer. Just able to find the time to post and have a sense off humour

The job entails a weekly post of new members major milestones and any thing else u feel free to post which my help the team and keep morale up.

If you can sort out the folding logo too for the Avartes for new members too that would also be a great start.

A team folding skin for EMII would be nice too!

Jasper has said to me recently if I would be a ‘point man’ for some giveaways for the folding team. The details off which have yet to be finalised (well even talked about ) so Zeus isn’t in the running for Captain. Although my name would off been last on your list as I am already ‘King of the GODs’

Remember is not a job for life and can be passed on when ever u like

So come lads/lasses don’t be shy!

I second that nomination.  I think dwjj would be a great team captain.

I also nominate dwjj as he has been keeping us on our toes and posting regularly about Sudhian folders plus he's also ride a bike like BMWRider used to

I wouldn't mind doing the folding logos for people's avatars - as long as they don't want me to do something outrageous with it like make it bounce around and spin 'n' stuff, I don't have that much time on my hands

Well, gee, really nice to be thought of. Not really sure why anyone really needs to be annointed. I like the communal feeling of just pitching in and trying to help. I'm kinda worthless when it comes to some things, and worried about a time commitment, but I'll do what I can. So unless someone else stands up, I'll volunteer to give it a try.

sort out avatars? Is that adding the little folding thingie to someone's avatar? Gee-I never did it to mine. Guess I could figure it out, but if cod3b453 wants to help-great!

skin for EMIII? hmmm... might be fun to figure out what that means. I'll work on it...

Gee-really sounding stoopid...

Any other things to worry about? Is there someone signed up at Stanford as team leader? Someone at Sudhian to help update web pages? That kind of thing?

bike riding-actually an obsession. Ducati, Triumph, Cannondale (lotsa miles this year-fat old out-of-shape, can't work on one, but working on other two) 29 years road riding (ouch!), a lot of the time using motorcycle/bicycles as primary transportation.

My avatar is squee and shmee from JTHM comics that my son likes. Kinda reminds me of me the last couple of years. But things are starting to look better! Probably going to change to the gargoyle I used for my tattoo (look for "Chain Reaction") if I can get a good picture.

dwjj would be great as capitan.  BTW, don't we already have an EMIII skin?  I have one that has the Sudhian logo on the bottom.

Perhaps we could start a new Major Milestones thread with the change in guard?  The existing one is quite long and takes a bit to load.  Perhaps we should also start a new New Members thread.

dwjj, let me know if you want those parts

P.S.  I am restocking the closet.  It was down to 7.6GHz of processor power.  I have just added another 7.7 GHz of power and will be adding another 5.2GHz this weekend.

Looks like we have all decided who should be doing the job b4 I evan started the thread

But we should let it run for a couple of weeks to allow members who dont log in on reg basis to have chance to chip in

I will ask jasper to stick it in the 'sudhain weekly news letter'

Cheers and keep folding!

Zeus you make a great god.
The team is very lucky to have you.

A team captain puts focus and fun into what is largely a passive endevour.
We all have many things demanding our attention.
I work with a group of very young (by my standards) people that I try to encourage to push the envelope of their abilities. It is a joy to watch them discover their potential.
"Man"s reach should exceed his grasp."
I hope you will be our Team Captain and think you could do a great job.

Jasper has talked about prizes etc. before for the folding team to try generate interest.  NOTHING EVER CAME OF IT.  So why would I think he would do anything now?  I think I remember making almost the same comments the last time the folding team got in a funk and Jasper said hey I'll give a prize.  This is like deja vu.

All I asked 'Jasper was to get a message to 'BMWrider' for me and it was 'Jaspers' idea off the prizes. So letts see.

But most off us aren't here for the prizes anyway.

The folding team is still doing well but other teams are doing very well as is the 'Folding projet' in all, so our team isn't as high as it was, isnt the 'be all and end all'

Agreed that not much has been done in the past.  A few things we need to accomplish to pull off a successful team.

1. Find a captain that can spearhead our team and keep us on track to tackle the teams above us.

2. Utilize the folding  newsletter. We have folding@sudhian.com which is our folding newsletter. Currently no one has used it but it can be a great way for the team to communicate and especially to keep track of members that tend to stray off.

3. Contests. This is where I come in. We have a very strong following, especially on the SFF side. We should tap this with various contests example any new member to fold 100 WUs qualifies for XXX prize.

Just like everyone, I need a kick in the ass from time to time also.

I'll see if I can get our ad running on there. I hope to include more SFFers in the upcoming contest.
