The top back USB port of my 210p is giving me problems.  About half the time the port does not work with either a Dell USB keyboard, or a Dell USB optiical mouse.  Restarting or turning off the computer will sometimes get it working, but not all the time (actually, hardly ever).

Here's the weird thing.  When the port IS NOT working, if I disconnect the non-functional device and plug a flash drive into it, it WILL work for the flash drive...what gives here...it works, but it doesn't?

You should have the same problem for the other rear port really... Unless its a physical problem but then wiggling the cable and or reinserting the plug should give you an idea if it is this. Given that you are plugging in a flash drive and it then works fine points away from it being a physical problem though... Does this happen if you leave the PC unattended for a while or does it happen while you are typing etc? It could be the USB Root hubs turning off due to power management settings if this is so...

Do the mouse and keyboard work fine when connected to all the other ports?

Well, wiggling cables does not seem to do anything.

I've never had the port stop working when leaving the PC unattended, or when I am working on it.......the usb port either works or it doesn't when I turn the PC on.  When not functioning, resetting the PC or powering off and on again works SOMETIMES (but not often...really I can see no pattern in what actually makes it start working again).

One thing, if memory serves me correctly, is that the port IS active until it hits the windows login screen.  My reason: well, I'm pretty sure that moving the mouse until this point shows the LED actively flashing....but once it hits that screen it goes dead.

This would make it seem like a Windows USB / driver issue....however, if this is so, why do all of the other ports work when the one does not, and why would the flash drive work in it.

I am baffled.
