So uh, why are they doing this exactly? Do they think restricting booth babes is going to somehow prevent violent video games?

I don't think people realize what the problem is. It's not that the games are bad, it's that negligent parents are buying these games for their underage kids.

This has always been their policy, they are simply re-iterating it since they feel some companies were ignoring it a bit too much.  Most were fine, but some companies in past years(3DRealms and GOD Games come to mind) were going as far as to hire exotic dancers for their booths and dressing them in barely anything...

I like watching lovely ladies as much as the next guy, but as they say the event is supposed to be a place to do business, not a strip club.

Plus, as kids go there.......... some parents might not find it acceptable. Me, I'm cool, but as for my wife.

Ric What you say is true, but I think that if you don't draw lines somewhere it still rots kids minds?
It's like saying lets move Porn down from top shelf, next to the childrens comics?
When I was 11 plus hell I love smut as much as the next kid (I bloomed early by the way) But now I have kids of my own I find myself being just like my dad!
I swore I would never be like my dad! LOLL.....

Car shows is another example me and the wife are fine going alone watching the next Bunny girls dance around ok me, I mean me! But I give those stands a wide birth if my kid is joining us.

Why do you do that? Doesn't shielding your children from things relating to sex make sex more desirable to them (because it's forbidden) and make them practice it unsafely when they get to that point without sufficient education on the matter?

I'm not saying that you should forcibly confront your children with it, but shielding them from it I think will ultimately have the wrong effects.

I'm fully aware of what my kids know. I would agree its a lot compared to what I did. That doesn't mean however, that it's acceptable for a show where kids will most likely be, to have women dressed like that. It's one thing for them to understand, another to poke it under their noses.

Nighteye
It's a case of pure and simple I don't not wish my children to think is ok to dance and dress like that, and think it's the norm.
I know people who treat women as if they are meat and have no respect.
My child is still young and impressionable. Until he is old enough to go looking for women the way he chooses I'm Law!
Yeah my kids on my shoulders at four years old, hearing the jeering and looks on blokes faces and usually it's me jeering with the lads. but whilst my son is with me it's a no no!!
If he is sixteen and he goes and decides to watch and understands whats going on thats his own doing.
