Of course on the Friday prior to the last big holiday of the year, work is very slow for me.
I thought I would look up some linux stuff.
I can not find anything about Mandrake. Both links I had to their main site no longer work and a google turns up nothing.
Did these guys close shop and leave??
Mandrake was distro of Linux I ran for a few years on a second machine at home.
I loved it, but like my latest experiment with Apple, work makes it too hard to stray away from a MS back bone.

thanks, that did pop up a fwe times under google but never clicked on the link to see why it popped up under search for mandrake.

Horrible new name. Messes like this seem to be happening more and more often.
Lindows to linspire, gmail to googlemail, mandrake to mandriva.
Blech.
Next week it'll be Sesame street to Ryegrass Avenue. Not that I'm inferring I've watched sesame street in the past decade and a half. Or so.

ya, they got sued over the name Mandrake by like a transmition company or something and had to change ther name. And they got bought by some other company and they just took the two names and shoved them together and got a damn aweful name.
