Search is still broke, I searched by author for "x586" in the last month and found nothing, I increased it to all post ever and found 3. Seeing how I have a couple post in the last month and over a thousand in total I'd say it's pretty broke.

Old threads show with 0 posts, although there are replies in the threads, I hope this can be fixed...

I appreciate everyone’s comments. I don’t claim to be a pro at anythign, let alone running a forum. I’ve been doing it now for over 6 years and am still learning along the way. Certainly there are a few things we would do differnetly.

As you pointed out - the community is the backbone of our site. We appreciate everyone’s loyalty.

Good news - the character limits have been increased and sigs can now link images.

Finally, the speed issues should be sorted out in the next few days. While we hammer out a bunch of other quirks.

Almost through this!

I noticed tonight that the search only works if your logged in.
I did the same search 3 times not logged in and turned up nothing. I logged in and did the same search and it turned up the correct results.

I have noticed that the title of a topic counts as a post.

Also still having DNS Issues.

did you do it without logging in though? I think thats what the comment is about.  I can't find the button to logout and there must be a cookie logging me in every time.

EDIT: Doh - its at the very top! (I was expecting it on the right next to "login"

Search works in Internet Explorer and Firefox but does not work if you are in AOL. [I keep AOL (bring your own access) because my wife is comfortable with it and so many things have my AOL email address that I don't think I could ever change them all.]  It is not a big problem but the Search problem does exist.

Edit:  And I am logged in when trying to search while using AOL.

If you search by "Search by Member Name" when you are not logged in it returns no results.

go to "http://www.sudhian.com/index.php?/forums/search/"

Put "x586" in the "Search by Member Name" field

In the "Search Posts From" field select "1 Month ago and ..." Newer radio button.

Hit the "Search" button.

You will recieve:
"Search Results:

    * Your search did not return any results.

Return to Previous Page"
.
.
.
Login and do the same search, you will recieve :
"So have you placed your Stop Limit order for Intel stock yet ?

Security my ass it worked before and it worked for years, if searching the forums is a security issue then this is some really shitty software and is a drastic downgrade from what was here before.

What good is search that doesn't work ?

It's not a bug - it's an added-value feature!

I'm still waiting to get credit for all my previous posts before the upgrade.
Right now, I'm back to newbie status. When I check the member listing,
two raidens show up with one credited with my previous posts pre-upgrade
and the other one with my posts since the upgrade.

fast reply works, but it is lame - it opens BELOW the button (just scroll down).

Jasper - can you have the fast reply window open all the time?  it is confusing that it doesnt visibly show when you press the button (or at least make the surrounding page large enough so that some of the space that the FAST REPLY field opens in IS visible if you scroll to the bottom of the page.

Hey Japsper, I know you've prolly heard this a million and 1 times already, but having to post like 8 times before the server takes it is really annoying. I didn't know until a couple of days ago that you had to keep posting in order for it to take. Is there a timeline as to when this will be fixed? Other than that, I like the way its setup, although I haven't used the search feature yet (I read that there are still some issues with it. I don't really use it...).

Thanks!

Guys,

In order to keep track of these requests, can you please start new threads for them? It's the only way Sam will be able to keep track. I agree with you, but we'll never get to it when these great suggestions are buried in this thread.

I appreciate your help.
