bad drive was received and examined.  something shorted the controller board on the drive, so it wasn't even spinning up.

i'll test and send a replacement as soon as i can.

Do you know if the SN95 will take E3, E4 and E6 Venice cores?

Thanks for letting me know ... I checked the other 2 again in the same manner (throught a Lasonic ex-250 external board), and no issues.

check the BOM thread for other peoples experiences with the unit.  i know for a fact that the opteron 170 dual core worked in it.

2.E6 stepping processor will support after BOM 12 or later.
