ive posted up this prob b4 and thot it was solved. i was wrong. im about to break my sblive in half.

now i get mad static again whenever im in windows. no sound at all, just full volume static. i know my old card wasnt broken; i put in a new one and it still happens. drivers are at their newest, via 4-in-1, dx8, newest liveware, no conflicts, no nothing. and when it does work, after usin the comp for bout 15 min it crashes and says "devldr16" has an error and must close.  then it stalls.  grrrrrrr.

plz post, if there are no answers i think i will put my computer in the fireplace.

Hello

As I didn't follow your former posts, what have you already tried? (so I'm not repeating the same hints for the Xth time... )

Hey mrfook, this is an easy one,devldr.16 is the program used to load the dos sound sb16 emulation and it must be causing a conflict. You can try enabling the memory hole 15m-16m in bios or just turn the sb16 emualtion off or remove the dos emu drivers whichever is easiest.Unless you play dos games you dont need it and it only works in an msdos window anyway.
Its not a Via mobo problem my old Bx mobo had problems with it and it has affected many different chipsets. Its a driver problem with Creative cards,CC
