Currently have an AMD XP Barton 2500 and was interested in knowing if it was much more of a power hog (considering it's age) compared to the newer 64-bit AMD mobile and Pentium M/Solo/Duo options.

Best information I've found for the barton is page 3 of an AMD pdf here.

Compared to current generation mobile processors table listed on Tom's Hardware.

My question is if the AMD column titled Max Theorectical Thermal Power is directly comparable to Tom's table for Max Power Draw?  And what is the power requirement for the Barton chip doing desktop activities and movie viewing?

TIA.
