DFI's RS690 board is being held up by ATI....last I heard, the RS690 chipset has been pushed into November instead of mid-Oct...I really want to upgrade to it since it's faster than the 6150 :-P

SO, it's an underwhelming board, but the thing that caught my interest is the price. It's currently $46.99 at New Egg. That's way cheap.

Ya, but it's PC Chips... Don't touch it, you'll get PC Chips cooties and it may spread to your other hardware!  Seriously, PC Chips is aweful.  As in bad out of the box/DOA, slow/brokenly/poorly designed boards (depending on the model, pick at least one, but probably more) and real high failure rate.

this Foxconn K8M890M2MA-RS2H (K8M890 AM2 mATX board) isn't on the list, the store I work at bought one to play with to see if we should sell them, I'll let you know what I think of it once I'm done playing with it.   http://www.foxconnchannel.com/EN-US/product/motherboard_detail.aspx?ID=en-gb0000203

it's super cheap too, $52.99 + $6.13 shipping at newegg.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813186100

Ther's a version of it with gigabit lan, the K8M890M2MA-KRS2H, but its' only on the global/english page, not the america/english page.  Don't know if it's too new or if it's not coming out here or what. http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/motherboard_detail.aspx?ID=en-us0000239

I'm not a fan of Asus, but M2V-TVM board is also available for pretty cheap and is an AM2 board with the K8M890 chipset, http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1282&l1=3&l2=101&l3=324

The computer store I work at just signed up to be an Epox reseller, I was asking about AM2 mATX boards and he said they were out of stock on the EP-MGF6100-M and it was actually end of life'ed and the EP-AGF6110-M has replaced it.  It seem to be basically the same features except it's using the single chip 6100-405 solution rather than two chip solution.  They sould be available in Dec is what our rep said.  I'm not sure if the new board will be the same price, higher or lower than the original 6100 board because ther isn't a price yet on the price sheet.
http://www.epox.com.tw/eng/products_content.php?ps=444

on the epox tiawan page, ther's also a 6100-400 board, the EP-AGF6105-M, but that wasn't on the price list we got, so don't know if that will be out the same time or not.  It has no PCIe video slot, so that's for an e-mail/interent workstation only as ther is no video upgrades at all.  Well, you could put one of those 4 monitor 2d cards from nvidia or matrox that only use PCIe x1 but ya, no. has this thread been replaced by another somewhere? why no updates? lots has been happening i think (with 6150, sempron and similar mATX good stuff)

ive just joined Sudhian but have been a reader here for a while. after going through this thread and the prior mATX one it updates i am eager for more!

-----

i bought a Foxconn 6150K8MA-8KRS when it first became available and thought i was going to DIE WAITING due to the specs i wanted..,

roughly in this order:
mATX with a 'good*' layout
- K8
- 6150/430
- PCIe x16
- SATA-300
- Gigabit LAN
- dual channel memory

other stuff that i either hoped for,
or sort-of 'expected' and thought would be stupid without:
- 4 DIMM slots so i can bang all my best 'old' memory into once a truly great mATX replaces it. (see below**)
- decent passive cooling
- a colour i liked Tongue
- to _not_ have a parallel port and to have a serial board header only

-----

* good by my own definition because after i use it as a desktop/www box i want to make it into another project altogether, art related.

** dream mATX for me as it stands would be..,
-quad core AMD
-dual GBe or better
-dual PCIe
-dual onboard digital video (simultaneous output)
-analog input for A/V caputure
-digital input for A/V capture
-4-8 USB 2.0 or whatever becomes the new standard

Abit's AN-M2 is finally available, but not the AN-M2HD yet.
It's 7100 based (basically a 6150 w/ HDMI output)
