during testing it installs windows xp sucess; went to install drivers .... but then it shut down... i was wondering why? i noticed that the system fan stopped, and only the cpu fan was rotating at its own pace.

i booted up again, set to full fans..  instaled the drivers and noticed that it installed a fan calibration software,re boot ,  put in bios back to SMART fan and its been up and running playing colin mc rae 2005 rally for the past 9 days ...

so it seems that the 210v requires the calibration software to be running and active at all times but luckily it is NOT a memory hungry program. the program is included in the biostar driver cd packaage.

pls bear this in mind when purchasing the product.

Well, missed out on the 43G - not into night shifts!

Interested, but will wait to see if you drop another tenner! Smiley

l0l sorry about that ,,, i was looking for a quick sale ... a tenner .. tooo much Sad this item retails @ 92 pounds =p

ok i updated the BIOS on the ideq 210v  to the latest revision thinking it mite be just CPU micro code.... booted into windows ....closed the biostrar control fan software ... system crept up to 61c with my sempron 2400+ cpu. heatsink was quite hot to the touch ....  so it seems the barebone unit requires the  biostar control fan software  loaded at all times .... i loaded it and left in sys tray .... smart fans kicked in .. could hear the system fan and cpu fans spin up becase temperate was obviously @ 61c ....temps dropped down to 41c ... then fans slowed down quiter..... everything is normal with the biostar system control fan software loaded ...

in conclusion ....it seems smart fan control on ideqs are not as good as on shuttles . ..it seems shuttles relys on hardware control (does not need software) whereas ideqs needs software to run (thus u need windows and biostar control app installed from the driver cd also included in the box) but im just being honest sales man here ..

Aha! I've built a 210V using a blog written by a UK guy - unfortunately the link no longer works but the 6 page article shows the fitting of Zalman CNPS7000B which looks huge but neatly replaces the CPU fan. It moves a lot of air silently and you can remove the rear exhaust fan, it's so effective! My 2800+ Sempron has been  idling at around 30c for hours. The fan comes with the adjustable fan controller, so I can carefully set it for almost total silence.

If I buy your box for £65, I could afford to get a Zalman again within my budget! Smiley

lol tks for ur interest still .. i just put it up to offer so i will wait a week (till about 1 sept) or so see if it generates any interests, so im keen to get the asking price as its pretty new as brand new bought =p

ic but ive tested it with the original HS cooler included and it runs fine with it  as long as the biostar control software is loaded within the systray within windows xp? so u shldnt nd to fork out another £5 for another cooler?
