Over the years I have made a fair amount of purchases over the net. NEVER had a problem till I dealt with the scum bags from pc-product.com out of Ithaca (sp?) New York.

I ordered 3 Micron PC2100/256 DIMMs on 11/14 at $28/ea, just as prices were starting to rise. My card got charged on the day of order and email confirmation was sent. After waiting 8-10 day & not receiving anything, I called them. I had the funny suspicion they were playing games as I was checking mem prices daily on pricewatch, and they were about 35ish by them. I was told that they were working on filling a backlog of orders from that day, blah blah blah. It did not pass the smell test but gave them the benefit of the doubt. A week later, nothing. Called again. Same story - will ship in 1-2 days, back log, blah blah. A week after that I got a bit nasty. I got to speak with/to MR IRWIN, "manager"!!! "Can't fill your order AT THAT PRICE, will give you your $100 back".

"Well thanks but the same thing costs $150 today. If I paid $150, do you have it in stock?".

"Ughhhhh. As I said, can't fill the order AT the price you order it at."

I filled a complaint with the Better Business. I will follow-up with the State Attorney (fraudulent business practices). I care less about the extra $50 they cost me. I simply hate crooks like them. I would have had NO problem simply moving on, if they would have been honest off the bat. But after lying for a month, THEN simply telling me to take a hike HuhHuh? Me not happy. Me angry .

One "slight" detail. Not only that the scum bags charged MY account on the date of order, but were advertising the product on pricewatch as IN STOCK, in addition to confirming the IN STOCK status less than 5 minutes before ordering on the net!!!!!

Bottom line: pay a couple of bucks more, but buy from a REPUTABLE peddler. I have had very good luck with NEWEGG, HARDWAREPRO & BZBOYS(sp?) although I have just a suspicion about BZBOYS.

FWIW.

Along with the BBB, I would go out to www.resellerratings.com and sign up for an account.  After you've done that, you can rate them and give a personal testimony about there site.  This could keep people from purchasing there and hurt their business.  Get mad, get even.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will gladly given a kick in crotch.

Here's one you might tuck away for when you need to use the shotgun approach!!!!!!

As far as I am concerned by the time I get through with them, IF I do not get my $40-50, it will be among their most memorable transaction, and certainly among the costliest.

But hell: it was ALL their choice. I am simply responding in kind with the added kicker of "interest".

Happy Holidays to all!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree.I ordered 3 sound blaster cards and one of the items was a cheap one without the game port.they wanted me to send the card back and pay for shipping.I told them to send me another sound card because what they sent me wasnt worth the shipping cost.its their error, they should pay.oh well,no more purchases from pc products.
