My PSU is the noisiest component in my SN26P. I've seen 80-120mm fan mods, but the P chassis has 2 more fans up top too that also could do with silencing. So I took some measurements and it seems that you can fit an ATX PSU in the chassis by mounting it vertically with the 12cm or 14 cm fan reversed and facing the rear and the grill side (where the switch and plug is) facing down. This will require that the one of the top chassis rails be cut because it is in the way, and you'll also need a short DVD drive. If this works, then the ventilation will be much better and the the whole system much quieter. At the moment I don't dare to cut into my chassis so I was wondering if anybody else has attempted this and what the result was.
Well, I was thinking about doing the saem thing. Problem is - we would have to move all the cables from priginal PSU. I'm not an electrician, so I will pass:)
Another thing is, maybe cut a hole on inside wall of PSU and put some 80mm wuiet fan blowing hot air from inside fo the case through the PSU to outside? What do you think?
