Anybody have any ideas what the cold temps for an Opteron 175 should be ?
Even when the PC is turned off all night and then turned on Core Beta 0.94 gives temps of 20C and 35C for each core.  Can this be right ?  The room temp is only about 15C first thing in the morning.
Thanks

In a hurry, oops.  It is in a standard SN95g5, no overclocking.

List y'specifcation more clearly... in fact create a sig when y'not in a hurry.

I'd use more than one program to check the temps as they'll probably give completely different readings. First check the BIOS, then use the one you mentioned... then try Motherboard Monitor and what seems to be a Shuttle users favourite... SpeedFan.

These should give you some idea of what sort of range the sensors give out. Keep us in formed and welcome to the fold!

During the 'working day' the temperature guides are all within 1-2 degrees of each other - which I guess is good.  Therefore I assume the early morning temps are also accurate.  PS Liked your signature so I copied layout !

No worries man... I'm looking for an 175 and I was hoping to get an X1950 Pro 512MB but I might just wait until I have to move over to PCIe (SN21G5 FTW!)

Is your CPU set to throttle down voltage/speed during idle or does it remain constant?  (ie. does Cool 'n' Quiet work for you)

Seems to work fine - going to re-seat the chip with free arctic 5 this weekend to see if it helps.
Thanks for all your help.
