Okay guys, I've got a small update here. I've been working on the Sugo faceplate, and let me tell you, this thing has been an absolute pain! It's so thick, that it takes forever to get it shaped how I want. In fact I'm still working on it, but hope to have it finished tomorrow. Lots of filing to do! Anyway, here's a couple pics of my progress.

Yeah baby! The filing is done! Here is a pic of the panel fastened in place. Next up, I start cutting on the case.

While I'm thinking about it, I should add that the original Sugo face plate will not remain silver. It's either going to get painted, or I may see how some carbon fiber film looks on it.

Thats stylish! I would recommend my point of view carbon fiber would look best...you can get a carbon fiber film that just peels and sticks ive seen it before...ive seen pplz use it on paintball guns mabe that wud do the job

Believe it or not... that's exactly what I have! ;-) Thanks for looking just the same! I bought it about a month ago. I wasn't sure exactly where I was going to use it, but I thought I'd be ready just in case.

That's fine. I really do appreciate the input. After thinking about it, I may got the carbon fiber film route after all. I think if it's subtle enough, it could look really good. At worst, I just peel it off and paint it anyway.

not sure what i think about that.
it may just be the photo but to me it looks almost slapdash. looks like its not sitting flush on the corners

What you are probably noticing, is the fact that the Sugo face panel sides are missing. I removed them to simplify the filing process. When they are in place, the panel is several mm wider. I'll see if I can get a better picture tonight.

just looks like there are two shadows as if either the original plate bent down at the sides or the new one is slightly bent. but i guess it is just a trick of the light (just like how in photo's i'm a spotty mongrel )

Aha, I see what you mean. The panel does sit completely flush. I couldn't live with it, if it wasn't. Blame it on poor camera skills.

the sugo front plate looks way to shiny to be anodized, and that plate from frontpanelexpress is definitely anodized. is the sugo front just brushed, raw aluminum? is that why the materials don't match? if you had them both chromed, or stripped and anodized/refinished together then it would look a little less Frankenstein.... don't get me wrong though... i am digging this.
