Both of these boards are nearly identical and obviously based on the same pcb and are the only boards I've seen with both a PCI Express x16 and full size PCI slots. The BCM officially supports Core 2 Duo (Merom) but the only places I've seen it for sale are industrial computing companies who only sell in bulk. The MSI is only widely available in Germany and I know a guy who is willing to ship it to me but on all the vendors websites it only officially supports Core Duo (Yonah) not Merom. I can't find this board listed anywhere on MSI's website, there are 3 mini-ITX boards listed, but not this one. Anyone know where to buy the BCM in single quantity? Anyone know if MSI board does or will support Merom?

Wow! Thanks. I searched all over MSI's website trying to find it. I guess it does support Core 2 Duo then, thank you!

Wow cool motherboard, is that a standard Mini-ITX size ? Seems they put only one memoryslot on it in order to fit a PCI slot too Cheesy

Damn I think I want this board, where do you get it ?

Three gigabit ethernet ports? That's unusual.

Yeah I can't wait for the new mini-DTX standard to come into play. I am sure SFF cube like systems will take off like a rocket Smiley Most people don't like big ATX systems any more.

Plus design and fancy computer cases (HTPC) etc are popular now adays Cheesy

I initialy wanted the mini-itx systems but now I will just build two, around two Intel m740 cpus, not to much speed but great desktop systems.

Will hold out with my own new systems for mini-dtx Cheesy

If you guys like the MS-9642 I'm sure that you'll also be interested in the GM965 based MS-9803 aka "Fuzzy GM965": http://www.epiacenter.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=994

In general I'm thoroughly impressed with MSI's performance in the Mini-ITX sector in the past 6 months. They've been releasing and working on some pretty cool boards, plus their prices are very competitive. The Axis 945GM barebone (built around a Mini-ITX board) for example is available at Newegg for something like $230: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/slim_pc/slm/pro_slm_detail.php?UID=618

Personally I'm also very much looking forward to the CX700M2 based MS-9802 board! Smiley

Just my 2 euro-cents...

Cheers,
