Where are you two guys getting your decent chrome trim from? I just got an sg33g5 and will dremel this weekend for a GTS but i wanted to find some good chrome trim.
Just in case anyone is wondering-this sg33g3 has some serious overclocking options- up to 600fsb, yes with a fixed PCI, and 2.8v for ddram, but i'm having a bit of a problem locking the ram to a fixed a speed-seems to automatically go up with any overclocking and i can only drop it to 667.
Also, how do you get the cover back over the GTS and case? Do you literally bend it over from the GTS side to the other and then pull it forward?

I never thought this would possibly work but decided to try it out in my Shuttle SN21G5 I have the upgraded Shuttle PC-50 300W PSU installed which is rated at 21.5A between the dual 12V rails - powering an X2 4200+ @2.4ghz, 8800GTS OC, 160GB raptor, 1Gb Kingston HyperX, X-Fi and an NEC DVD/RW drive. The system boots right up just fine and chugs along with no issues under heavy loads from 3DMark05 / 06 and gaming with BF2142. I did have to dremel away a small section of the rear side chasis frame and of course I used a window modded case cover that I had cut previously to fit a 7900GTX. Now I'm seriously considering buying an SD32G2 Shuttle, so that I can use my C2D E6700 with the 8800GTS What kind of PSU do you have in it? Besides the 250watt thermal take? Do you have a external drive hooked up? I did mine kinda like this but I am a little scared that the stock 250watt will not fuel a 8800gts, 500gb,40gb raptor, 2gb DDR2 800 and a Asus dvd cd burner. ****4/21/07 UPDATE****I have an XFX 8800GTX installed in the SD32G2 now! For the increased power demand of the 8800GTX, I added a Thermaltake Power Express 250W PSU in the optical bay. I used a PCI-E molex splitter from the Shuttle PSU and 1 PCI-E power connector from the Thermaltke PSU - efectively splitting the load between the two PSU’s. The system runs extremely cool and is nearly silent, I have been gaming on it pretty hard and it has been 100% stable. It was a bit tricky to get the card installed as there is practically no clearence in the front. I ended up removing the single slot PCI bracket from the rear of the card and setting it up in the rear chasis frame bracket (loose) and worked the card into it, then mounted it to the board afterwards. I’ll post some pics later when the GF comes back with my camera!

Do you guys need to cut or replace the actual bracket on the back of the videocards? Some models have the double high brackets that have the vent in the PCI slot.

nope, never have to do that! use a 8800gts or 8800gtx or 8800 ultra do not go with a gt!

what brings you to that bit of logic?
install a dual slot card and spend lots of time modding and cutting and such, or install a cheaper card that slides straight in and offeres better performance than the GTS?

i doubt it takes 10 minutes from start to finnish, it costs more, makes your hardware more vulnerable, doesn't look that great imo, more silly, and uses more power. it's the equivelent of modding the heck out of your case to install 3 harddrives when you could buy a single drive the size of the three combined for the same price

would still like to know what you have against the 8800GT? That card performs BETTER than the GTS. Overclocked, a GT will practically match benchmarks of the GTX. IT take like 10 min and it is really easy and comes out lookin GREAT! Plus the GT is single slot. It takes way less than 10 minutes to install; even easier since there's no cutting involved; will still look great.

The 8800GT is wayyyy over rated and it looks so much cheaper then the 8800GTS! The 8800 GTS, 8800GTX and 8800Ultra look SOOOO much better!

you're buying something for it's performance not because it looks pretty...
and no, the 8800gt is crazy fast, 20,000 in 3dmark 06, i don't see a pair of sli'd ultras getting that

i doubt it takes 10 minutes from start to finnish, it costs more, makes your hardware more vulnerable, doesn't look that great imo, more silly... Really? Using an 8800GTS 640mb gives you more ram and overclocks better than a GT because the blower fan sucks in cold air and spills it out the back of the card, THE HEAT FROM THE CARD NEVER ENTERS THE CASE. This keeps internal parts cooler and allows for better overclocking of the CPU and allows for lower CPU fans speed settings. Not to mention the blower fan is absolutely silent, always running cool. Plus it looks bad ass... 8800GTS 640mb Flush Mod

huh guys you do know that the back of the 8800 gts heats up like a mofo now dont you ? I am more in favour of the gts just because of the dual slot cooler , because the gt is faster..

I thought you were being sarcastic or joking so I didn't call you out on that BS. I have an 8800GT, I wish it could be that fast. A 8800GT doesn't even beat a single GTX unless it's overclocked, much less a single Ultra. I have seen plenty of 8800GTs that won't make 675MHz, and even some SSC models that won't make over 740MHz. You are pulling numbers out of thin air. Look, I am a fan of the 8800GT, I love mine, but please, don't make ridiculous statements like 20,000 3DMarks and faster than an SLI pair of 8800 GTX Ultras! If you meant to talk about 8800GTs in SLI, then maybe your comment holds weight but not by your original post. And please, this is the SFF forum, none of us can run SLI so why bother making comparisions that way?

Not fake. Would you like a new picture? In addition, the pci-e slot will not break---the vid card is locked at the rear and held in tight by the case on the flush mod, it will not move-its solid. Also, Those 3Dmark scores are taking a considerably highly clocked Gainward 8800GT and comparing it to a low spec vanilla Leadtek 8800GTS. Fair would be comparing a low-spec vanilla 8800GT to a low-spec vanilla 8800GTS; or vise versa. Either way, i would not part from my 8800GTS for a hotter running card INSIDE THE CASE, at least until there is a newer monster vid card out...

What is the resolution of that 3DMark test? The GTX and Ultra really start to pull away at higher resolutions with AA cranked...

i assume they are with the default resolutions
but i would expect them to be beaten by GT's in sli at higher resolution, all the reviews show that as you up the resolution the gt's barely drop in performance

Sorry - I forgot to add pics! 8800GTX is still running GREAT - never had any problems with dust with this setup and it fits fine in my Shuttle case
