Or is it that Vista doesn't work with GroupWise?

I know that Novell are very keen on cross-platform interoperability and are working with M$ to try and make windoze more friendly to other platforms.

In Windows XP there is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems
and I'm not exactly sure why no one other than the Government took advantage of it.  I guess they were all waiting
on Microsoft to program the plugin for them Huh  Well, there must be some reason.  Whether it was documentation,
what it is, I don't know.

Well, I caved and installed Vista.

Only 2 problems, one of which was foreseen:

1) Games crash. However, this is most likely due to immature GPU drivers rather than the OS itself.
2) Some video files, like .mp4, make WMP unresponsive/lock up. This did not happen with XP even when the same version of WMP was used. Suspect it's an OS thing.

Vista is a mess from what I have seen and behaves unpredictably sometimes.  For example my boss wanted to VPN and we had trouble with the VPN while using Wifi.

Well it turns out that the VPN does work but only when I plug in the original ethernet connection that I configured it with.

Also there is very limited driver support for soundcards in Vista.

If your VPNing Vista can be very inconvenient because you can't put a VPN shortcut on your desktop.

Although I can't be sure I have the distinct impression that whoever designed Vista never used Windows XP in their whole and they threw out everything that made XP a worthwhile OS.

Is Vista the future, maybe, when they get things right and patch it.

After using Vista I hope the next "upgrade" will just be a rehash of XP with Direct X 10 support.  If you use Vista a direct X 10 compatible version of XP would probably be a major upgrade!

I switched to Vista exclusively two months ago.  It wasn't actually my intent to do so, but Gparted hung during partitioning and hosed my install, and I decided to go full balls into Vista.  I did have my XP install backed up, but figured I'd give Vista a shot anyway.  I've got to say that the transition has been pretty painless.  No hardware problems, and very few program compatibility issues.  As a matter of fact, there were some things I never got to work in XP, that work in Vista... go figure!  I still haven't found a practical purpose for the UAC though.  Sure, it's supposed to protect the user from doing something stupid, but never once have I clicked on 'Cancel' when it popped up.  Quit asking me if I want to delete a freaking file!  So, what is it protecting me from again?  I've left it enabled, but I'm not sure why....

Only problem I have with Vista so far is this, and it could be a biggy for some people...Bluetooth support is non existant for the Audio profiles.

I have a Bluetooth adapter with drivers for XP from Widcomm that worked in XP, under Vista, I have no specil drivers and Vista doesn't natively support the Headset (Audio profiles).

It seems like this is a 'known problem' with MS, but they seem to not be doing much about it.

Pretty p1$$ poor if you ask me, I wonder what all those people with laptops are doing that have BT built in?

I'm not sure GroupWise is a current product for them, they may just still sell it but aren't actually developing it anymore.
