Anyone here using Firefox on a regular basis? After using it for a brief period, it becomes unresponsive. Links might need to be clicked multiple times or may not work at all. Sometimes it will only load the basic HTML without the images, etc. When I quit the app and reopen, it works fine again. Sometimes command-Q will not work despite the program not being listed as "not responding". I've tried clearing the cache, repairing permissions, etc. Haven't deleted any .plist files yet. This started within the last month with 2.0 and still happening with the recent 2.0.0.4 upgrade.  In the meantime, I have Safari and just installed Camino. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but all of the support help I've found at mozilla.org relates to PC.

what are your system specs? you may be running out of ram. firefox eats a lot of ram on my G5, and on occasion i have had to "force quit" it, and restart. safari, and camino really are better browsers.

You could always invoke top to see if that helps you pinpoint the problem.  Failing that, use Camino - it's also from Mozilla but it's more integrated with OSX than Firefox.

Open a terminal window, maximise it and run

Your terminal window should fill with the top (a standard UNIX) application.

Press
Code:
h
to get help with configuring top - viz. using 's' to set the update interval from its default 3sec to 1sec.  Then open Firefox and watch how top changes to see if there is a marked increase in CPU or RAM usage.  If that doesn't give you clues about what caused Firefox to crash, you could always try looking at the log files in /var/log.

i do not run it regularly but when I did use it everything is fine.
I have to use it to view a few websites that do not like safari.

I noticed quriks when upgrading to version 2.x. Version 1.5x always worked well for me. I have actually gone back to 1.5x now.
