I would agree that if you're new to computers, or don't want to fiddle around with driver installations and BIOS upgrades etc. then yes, best to avoid some of the more troublesome Via chipsets.

I can however TOTALLY recommend the Shuttle P4X266/A as the best-performing no-fuss DDR P4 motherboards available

Well, it does not say anything wrong in particular... But if we read it all, we can perfectly find out that the guy who wrote that does not know xit of computers! He speacks about all those issues, and u can tell he doen't even knows what he is talking about!

Well, I can't say that I agree with the interpretation of his knowledge of computers. He is probably in the top 3 of Canadian PC experts and well known in Comdex circles. But that said, after reading what I consider to be a very 1-sided article, you have to wonder about his imparitality. I dind't find anything there that was totally false, but there was no balance to the article in that he failed to point out the many correlaries within the Intel camp.
