BSOD during xfer to external, now external says unformatted! help!

For whatever reason I came back to my computer while it was transferring 180gb to my external hard drive and there was a nice BSOD on the screen.

I shut the external off and rebooted my system.

When I was fully booted up I turned the external back on and Windows came up asking if I wante to format the drive!

The drive is brand new so all I have on it is what I was transferring.

Problem is, the stuff I was transferring was being MOVED… not copied.

Before I go through a data recovery (EASEUS says 10.5 hours) is there any way to fix the drive? Boot sector repair or something?

DDR2 PC 6400 need some upgrades?

I have the 1GB 512x2GB each installed but of late with newer programs my ram is limited so need at least 2GB or would like 4GB as a pair.

Does anyone know what works well with my Shuttle? Shuttle SB 95PV2?

I found these OCZ what do people think about them anyone use these before?

Using an atx power supply with a VIA Mini ITX motherboard

Hi, I am a little new to this mini ITX stuff.

I have a Via EPIA -933FIC motherboard.

I just want to play with it, therefore it won’t be pretty.
I have an old ATX power supply I would like to use.
The 20 pin connector works OK, however since the power supply has to be activated through an ATX motherboard.
I am at a loss as to achieve this with the VIA mother board.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have an old SN21g5, installed a new hardrive (ssd am planning on upgrade of complete computer but buying other parts at mo) but cannot find out how to set to ahci in bios.

Could someone recommend a good card reader at an affordable cost?I was looking at some last night,and wound up very confused.Reader would be used for photo memory cards.

I’ve run shuttles for 10 years, just checked the newest shuttle barebones and they want nearly $600 for it and it doesn’t have 6gb/s Sata!

I did a search, but I can’t find any mini-itx with this - anyone know if there are any out now or coming out in a reasonable amount of time?

Upgrade my 1366 board for sata 6.0 & usb3… or buy new 1156 CPU/board

Just bought a 600g WD Velociraptor (SATA 6GB/s) & would also like to take advantage of USB 3.

I currently have an i7 920 on an EVGA X58 board.

Should I get another 1366 motherboard with the newer stuff on it? Or is 1366 a dying breed?

Would I be better getting a new 1156 board and a new CPU & selling what I have?

PATA SSD upgrade for my laptop; worth it?

I don’t need much storage space in my Toughbook CF-M34 (Centrino, 1GHz, 1.25gb RAM), but more battery life and speed would be nice.

I currently have a Samsung HM160HC (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152110) which has been tested to be the fastest PATA laptop drive available.

Would the SSD drive be a good upgrade for speed? What about battery life?
