I’m pretty upset Shuttle dropped Firewire all together. It is nowhere to be found in this XPC and SX48P2-Deluxe. It looks like I’m going to get SX48P2-E (the last Firewire offering).
unfortunately, external audio boxes are still using firewire. so all of my pre-existing m-audio products would not work with upcoming shuttle models. i’m still not sure why they deprecated the feature; most of the intel i7 mobos that just came out has firewire by default.
500 W supply in this dimensions !
( with 5 cm fan ?? like sg45h7 )
for when ?
Thanks for pointing that out, I would have missed it… if that 500W is as efficient as other Shuttle PSUs, I wonder what it couldn’t handle that could fit in that box…

True, m-audio aren’t all that great anyway. Though you could just get a Firewire card

i think m-audio is great, but to each his own. unfortunately a reliable pci-e firewire card costs $80+. seems a bit too much for me. i may just end up buying an m-audio usb solution…
it seems tha shuttle keeps holding on to this thing with several small fans instead of some big ones. there is room for 14cm on-top or 12cm in the back, but il guess we instead will have 3 smapp wasps in the rear.
i7, is not a revolution, think we need to wait for the 32nm cpus to come.
This would interest me as I am looking to upgrade but it falls short. The continued reliance on small noisy fans is off putting. I went to great effort to make my current Shuttle bearable, I won’t be doing that again, I would rather choose a barebones or components that I know will be quiet rather than alter an overpriced and frankly flawed design. I notice there are no pictures yet of the rear of the Shuttle.
indeed , no pictures of back .
But I suppose it is similiar with the other H7 ‘s .
1 x 92 mm fan for Ice-cooler and 1 x 5 cm for psu .
130 W from the i7 is no problem for the Ice-cooler .
I dream Shuttle come with a new range of powersupplies , more powerfull and fanless .
