Registry file:
Quote

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DateTime\Servers]
@="1"
"0"="time.windows.com"
"1"="time.nist.gov"
"2"="ntp2.usno.navy.mil"

If you have any additional time sync servers to add... post them here.

EDIT: Thanks for the correction on '#2' TMagic.

Cool Intuit...

What registry editor are you illustrating? My XP editor looks somewhat different... and I get an error trying to sync with tycho.usno.navy.mil

by the way, that avatar looks like a death mask... Are you feeling ok

It looks different ?  I'm using RegEdit... the default program that comes with XP.

http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/ntp.html

gives you a rather long list of NTP sync servers to choose from.
Try "ntp2.usno.navy.mil" versus what I have there.

I thought my "DeathMask" was appropriate for Halloween.
Actually, I thought I resembled a pirate as that is actually a headrag on my head.  RRR matie.

Yes intuit,

I chose a time server from my time zone in Montana is Mountain (tick.usnogps.navy.mil) and it syncs fine. I forgot about Halloween. Your avatar is well suited for that goulish night indeed...

I only have to open regedit to the proper area and select " new string value" in this case 3, and then "modify" with the time server name "tick.usnogps.navy.mil"

Thanks

Intuit,

after playing with the time servers... Do we have to specify a server in our time zone? Do the default time servers in XP check for time zones automatically?
