Hello all,

I'm building a low profile HTPC case and need a low profile pci-x 16 video card to go inside of it.  This computer will also be used for gaming so I need the most powerful card available.  I believe Galaxy has an 8600GT that is low profile, but I can't get my hands on it in the states.  Does anyone know of another brand or where I can get something similar here in the US?  Please help, I'm sort of desperate here.  I'll even consider a low profile HD2600 if it exists.  TIA.

I was looking at some LP products from Directron earlier - here's one:

Be aware of potential heat issues with very powerful cards

I've just posted a similar reply in the Hardware Section.

Hardware Section thread

What about getting a Galaxy 8600GT from north of the border, i.e. Canada?

There's a Galaxy 7300GT low profile available here in Oz with a "custom fan mod"

Low profiles are really aimed at Brand Named SFF's for Business or Home Multimedia with passive cooling, so your choices are going to be limited.

NCIX has a US webpage, www.ncixus.com  ordered from them the other day and got the stuff just fine, shipping was a little high because I think they ship it form canada but it came quick and prices were real good.

Wow, thanks guys, that Canada website was just what I was looking for.  I really wanted the 8600gt, and didn't want to go below it's performance.  THANKS A TON!!!

I think I'd be looking at ATI 3000 series.  Not sure if the 36x0 comes low profile, but would be a good choice if you can get one.

I agree Lespurgeon!

I'm having a hard time finding any.

Can anyone post links to any ATI 3650 low-profile/half-height cards out there? I need one to fit my Antec Minuet 350 (94mm high)...

Have you considered a PCI-E riser card? For example...

You can get MANY different kinds of riser, even flexible ones, so that you can potentially fit a full size card into a low profile case. Might be worth a try!

How many adjacent slots would you lose though?  I'm guessing at least 2.
